That English/Britishness is key to the enduring appeal of the Dunhill label (just as it is increaasingly for luxury peer Burberry

He joins Dunhill directly from fellow Richemont Maison James Purdey & Sons where, also as Creative Director, we’re told “he successfully laid the foundations for a growing clothing and accessories collection”.

But his experience is also in the wider international industry with further roles that have included Agnona and Ralph Lauren

A successor at Purdey hasn’t yet been announced but will be “shortly”.

Dunhill said it’s “moving forward with renewed dynamism and a rejuvenated strategic direction” under the tenure of CEO Laurent Malecaze, and Holloway’s appointment “reinforces the focus on [its] guiding principles of British craft, innovation, functionality and masculine elegance”.

The CEO said Holloway has “creative energy coupled with his decades of experience in luxury” and that this “will be instrumental as we evolve and expand our house’s iconic codes in the context of today’s client.

“Simon’s sense of quality and craft, along with a clear understanding and appreciation of the dunhill DNA, will ensure we continue to innovate through products that are timeless, purposeful and relevant.”
